The Lego Creative Challenge for Canuck Place is a community event introduced in 2010, which provides Abbotsford businesses with the opportunity to support Canuck Place Children’s Hospice in a fun and creative way. With your Sponsorship you and your staff/team have the opportunity to work together to build a Lego creation representing your business. This is a fantastic opportunity to represent your business in a creative way. Please see the sponsorship sheet for the variety of ways you can get involved. All proceeds will benefit Canuck Place Children’s Hospice- Abbotsford.

What are the benefits of your Sponsorship?

  • Signage with your business name and/or logo at the event (.eps or .ai file)

  • An opportunity for your staff/team to work together to creatively build a structure using the supplied 2000 piece 
    (The Lego is property of Canuck Place and must be returned after the event)

  • A chance to showcase your business to nearly 30,000 customers who visit Sevenoaks Shopping Centre during the event.

  • All proceeds will be given to Canuck Place Children’s Hospice

Kids Lego Creative Challenge 

Bring your own Lego build creation to enter to WIN a gift card to Sevenoaks Shopping Centre! Winners recieve a $50 gift card for each age category.

The lego build creation must be dropped off at Sevenoaks Customer Service by September 12th with cash registration fee. 

People’s Choice Award

The Sevenoaks customers will be encouraged to vote for their favorite Lego creation. At the end of the event we will tally all of the votes and announce the winning business, who will receive a free ¼ page ad in the Abbotsford News.

Canuck Place Children’s Hospice provides respite and family support, pain and symptom management, grief and loss counseling, art, music, education and recreation therapy, and end-of-life care to over 450 newborns, children and teens with life-threatening illnesses and families throughout British Columbia. To meet the growing demand for pediatric palliative care in British Columbia, Canuck Place has built a second facility in Abbotsford. TREES OF HOPE

The Trees of Hope is a community event introduced in 2009, which provides Abbotsford businesses the opportunity to share in the spirit of giving, during the month of December. This year we are pleased to announce that funds raised will benefit Matthew's House!

Matthew’s House provides top-quality respite care for children ages 4-18 years of age living with complex healthcare needs and strengthens families by creating an opportunity for rest and rejuvenation. Matthew’s House is the vision of Doug and Andrea Froese whose son Matthew suffered severe birth asphyxia, leaving him completely dependent on others. Recognizing the challenges families face in providing care for children like Matthew, and inspired by his legacy, the Froese’s envisioned a home-away-from-home where parents could bring their child, knowing that their son or daughter would be well-cared for by qualified, compassionate caregivers. They dreamt of a place that would provide this care so that parents could experience rest and peace of mind. Matthew’s House opened its doors in November 2013.

Matthew’s House is operated by Communitas Supportive Care Society, a faith-based organization that has a 40-year history of providing support services for people living with disabilities. For more information please visit www.mattshouse.ca.

SCAVENGER HUNT GUIDELINES


All participating groups interested in hosting a Scavenger Hunt in Sevenoaks Shopping Centre are asked to completed this form: Scavenger Hunt Indemnity Agreement. This form must be submitted to Tricia Dumouchel, Marketing Director at tdumouchel@morguard.com or faxed to 604-853-1778 at least 72 hours prior to your event. Guidelines for Scavenger Hunts within Sevenoaks Shopping Centre

  • Check in with Customer Services upon arrival (located on the lower level next to The Bay).

  • Please provide contact information for the Event Host (individual organizing the event).

  • Children are to have an adult leader with them at all times. No more than four children per adult leader. Adult leader must be able to be in contact with the Event Host at all times.

  • Please do not engage retailers in your scavenger hunt.

  • Please do not place notes/clues in the landscaping or on the furniture.

  • No running. This is not a race, please take your time and remember to have fun.

  • Please keep the noise to a respectable level.

  • Be aware and respectful of others around you.

  • Only one group in any given store at one time.

  • No photography permitted in the shopping centre.

  • If you are utilizing the Food Court during your event, no outside food is permitted, with the exception of cake, in respect to our Food Court retailers.


Groups that are unable to comply with these guidelines will be asked to discontinue their Scavenger Hunt.
